The Garmin vivoactive 6 smartwatch is receiving a new stable update: software version 12.70. It arrives around three months after the last release, version 10.14, which added new activities like Gaming and Table Tennis, as well as the Breathing Variations tool.
Garmin’s vivoactive 6 smartwatch is gaining more new features with the version 12.70 release. The change log states that it gains the Evening Report, a tool which mirrors the popular Morning Report with a nightly summary of your day. There is another new activity, Rucking, and the Strength activity now has an automatic rest timer; historically, auto rest was only available for swimming activities.
On top of this, there are new Calculator and Tips apps, with the latter helping users to make the most of their smartwatch’s features. The final addition is support for the creation of customized focus modes. Alongside this are two smaller updates for GCM Translations (2.80) and Tips Videos (1.00).
According to a forum post from Garmin, software version 12.70 has already reached 50% of users of the vivoactive 6 smartwatch (curr. $299.99 at Amazon). While it is being pushed to eligible watches automatically, you can also manually trigger the download from the menu, going to Settings > System > Software Update.
