The Fitbit app for WearOS is being refreshed, in line with the broader shift to Google’s Material Design 3. Users have recently spotted updated versions of app icons, with gradient colors on a white background. Plus, new Tiles are also on the way, with larger action buttons and a refreshed color scheme.

Google has updated the Fitbit app for Wear OS. The app, for users of the brand’s Pixel watches, now uses the new Material Design 3 design language in some places. The complete redesign is expected to roll out as part of the September Pixel Feature Drop.

According to a report by Android Police, the icons for the Fitbit Exercise (running person), Fitbit Relax (heart with breathing symbol) and Fitbit Today (Fitbit logo) app shortcuts have been refreshed to match the new style. They now have a white background, with rounder, gradient colored illustrations. These changes are viewable in both list and grid view with Fitbit app (WearOS) version 3.40.

Plus, spotted in the Pixel Watch app are new Tiles like Body responses, Exercise quick launch and Daily heart rate. The latest versions often feature a lighter gray bubble in the centre of the background, with larger action buttons and the updated color scheme. These refreshed tiles were spotted in the Pixel Watch app version 3.5.0. User reports on Reddit indicate that these have already reached some customers with the Pixel Watch, Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3 (curr. $299.99 at Amazon).
