Amazfit has officially acknowledged the T-Rex 3 Pro smartwatch. Recently, this new premium wearable appeared to leak at a retailer in the Philippines. This listing indicated that its features could include an integrated flashlight, the BioCharge metric and Bluetooth calling.
Now, Zepp Health, the company behind the Amazfit brand, has confirmed the upcoming release of the T-Rex 3 Pro in a change log for the Zepp app. Arriving on August 29th in the Apple App Store, Zepp app version 9.12.0 is said to bring “support for binding” for the Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro (48mm). It is thought that, in this case, binding means connecting the smartphone to your mobile phone. Why support for the second 44mm size was not added at this time is unclear.
A second update, which followed soon after the first, also seemed to confirm a feature linked to the device. The version 9.12.1 update adds support for route planning to the Zepp app. A Route Planning function was mentioned in the leaked listing for the T-Rex 3 Pro. However, it remains to be seen whether this feature is only available through the app or also directly on the watch.
Both release notes also mentioned that they brought bug fixes, but no further details were provided. It remains to be seen when the Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro will be released and how much it will cost.
