The Xiaomi 5000 Ultra-Thin Power Bank with Built-in Cable 22.5W will soon be crowdfunded in China. This new portable accessory is said to be particularly compact, making it easier to transport.
Xiaomi’s 5000 Ultra-Thin Power Bank has a single USB-C port, offering an up to 22.5W power output. The product listing indicates that this should allow you to charge a Xiaomi 15 to 30% in half an hour, or an iPhone 16 Pro 45% in the same time frame. It supports various fast charging protocols like PD 3.0 (PPS) and QC3+. Plus, this model comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, with both ends stored inside a cap, allowing it to act as a lanyard when not in use.
The Ultra-Thin Power Bank’s 5,000 mAh battery is recharged via a 20W USB-C input, and is said to retain at least 80% capacity after 300 cycles. There are various safety features, including temperature checks and protection against issues like short circuits and overvoltage. With a metal frame, the power bank is said to be 11.8 mm (~0.5 inches) thick and weigh around 110 g (~3.9 oz). Customers will be able to choose between two color ways: Night Shadow Gray and Ice Porcelain White.
The crowdfunding campaign for the Xiaomi 5000 Ultra-Thin Power Bank with Built-in Cable 22.5W will start in China on August 24th. Backers will be asked to pledge CNY 139 (~$19) for the product, which is expected to retail for CNY 149 (~$21) in the future. It remains to be seen whether this accessory will be released in other markets like Europe, where the company already sells similar products like the Ultra Slim Power Bank 5000mAh (curr. €29.99 at Amazon Germany).
