UGREEN launches the Nexode series of chargers with a 100W GaN model for starters

The inaugural Nexode power brick is the latest 100 watt (W) charging accessory from UGREEN, and as such is backed by the company to fill even a 16-inch MacBook Pro from 0 to 100% in about 1.5 hours. It might do so via 1 of the first 2 USB type-C outputs that run down the opposite edge to its fold-away US-type prongs.

Those 2 ports are found above its third type-C port, rated for no more than 22.5W in that case, which is located above the first-gen Nexode's single type-A in turn. Therefore, UGREEN asserts that it can charge 4 devices at once, although even its fastest ports would drop to 45W in that case.

This power-delivery conservation is controlled by the in-house Power-X system, which adapts distribution per port based on the number of devices are plugged in at any one time and their relative power requirements.

The Nexode 100W is also touted to regulate power and heat-generation while in use thanks to GaN integrated circuits (ICs) developed as a result of a partnership UGREEN has secured with Navitas.

The new power brick, which comes in the OEM's signature gunmetal-gray finish accented with a light purple found in the type-A port's plastic insert, is now priced at US$79.99/€79.99 on Amazon, although a code currently found on its own website (15UGREENFB) might bring this price down to as little as $51.99 for now.
