Xiaomi has recently launched two new robot vacuums in Singapore, the H40 and S40, as it continues to expand its range of smart home appliances.
A feature-rich, large capacity offering with the H40
The H40 is the more expensive of the two, coming in at S$319 (which converts to US$219 as of this writing - July 24), and has both vacuum and mopping functionality. On the vacuum side, it boasts powerful 10,000Pa suction, which should be more than enough to remove even deeply embedded dust, and a large 4L dust bag. A dust bag this size, the electronics maker claims, can last up to 90 days without emptying, and is a big win for a more hands-off solution to home cleaning. On top of this, the product also features multidimensional anti-tangle technology, which has a five-stage process to ensure hair can be collected without any issues.
When it comes to its mopping abilities, the H40 is equipped with a 210ml water tank and three water flow levels for both precise and efficient cleaning.
On the battery front, we have an impressive 5200mAh, which Xiaomi claims can last up to 180 minutes on a full charge in standard mode.
It also features LDS mapping, the ability to cross thresholds, and can return to the docking station when running out of juice. Not only that, but you can designate cleaning zones on the app, monitor cleaning in real time.
An affordable alternative with the S40
The S40 has an impressive set of specs, too while being slightly more affordable, coming in at S$229 (US$180).
It shares a lot in common with the H40 when it comes to functionality, but there are some slight differences.
As with the H40, you have powerful 10,000Pa suction, mopping ability, a large 5200mAh battery, and Xiaomi's impressive anti-tangle system. The smart device relies on the LDS system to build an accurate layout of your home. There are also four modes designed to tackle different types of debris, including Silent, Standard, Strong, and Turbo options.
Where the S40 differs from the H40 is in its capacity. Instead of the massive 4L dustbin of the H40, it only gets 520ml, with a 270ml water tank. This is still large enough to keep the frequency of disposals reasonably low, mind you.
The H40 and S40 are now available at Shopee, mi.com, and Lazada in Singapore.
