The new Eufy SoloCam E42 is on the way. The upcoming model from the Anker sub-brand appears to build on the SoloCam E30, model T8171. This older device was launched in the US at the end of 2024 and has since arrived in Europe.
The Eufy SoloCam E42, expected to have model number T8173, has appeared in the FCC database. An image and specifications of the smart home product have also been leaked by AnkerInsider. The SoloCam E42 is said to offer a 4K resolution, an improvement on the 2K resolution of the SoloCam E30. The newer model also features an integrated spotlight for enhanced night vision. Like its predecessor, the camera is expected to pan and tilt with an AI tool to track human or vehicle movement.
The SoloCam E42 is expected to have an integrated microphone and speaker, allowing for two-way voice interactions. Matching the E30, it comes with a detachable solar panel, which helps the camera to run for longer between charges. It is otherwise powered via a 10W USB-C input. This model should be IP65 dust and water resistant, and compatible with the Eufy S380 HomeBase 3 for storage and more AI features like facial recognition.
Eufy’s SoloCam E42 is expected to be available in bundles at launch. It has been speculated that a kit including two units of the SoloCam E42 with the S380 HomeBase 3 could retail for between $400 and $500. The price of a single Eufy SoloCam E42 security camera is unclear. For context, the eufy SoloCam E30 typically retails for $149.99, but is currently available at Amazon for $99.99. A two-camera bundle with the HomeBase 3 has a $449.97 RRP.
