RTX 4060 Ti hits equivalent of almost US$700 as scalpers in China fleece gamers with Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 FE series prices

Gamers in China are suffering at the hands of unscrupulous scalpers who have apparently been able to snap up much of the stock of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 FE cards that were launched in that country recently. It appears scalper prices for the RTX 4090, RTX 4080, RTX 4070, and RTX 4060 Ti have ranged anywhere from +26% to over +56% list prices, leaving graphics card buyers the choice of either waiting or hoping to dig around for the best bargain. While prices on sites like JD.com fluctuate because of the number of sellers, it’s clear to see that scalpers believe the RTX 40 FE cards are locked into a seller’s market there.

As noted by VideoCardz, the launch prices in China for the Founders Edition (FE) graphics cards are as follows:

• Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090: 12,999 yuan (~US$1,811; Nvidia US list price: US$1,599)
• Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080: 9,499 yuan (~US$1,323; Nvidia US list price: US$1,199)
• Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070: 4,799 yuan (~US$669; Nvidia US list price: US$599)
• Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti: 3,199 yuan (~US$446; Nvidia US list price: US$399)

As can be seen above, the Nvidia list prices of the non-customized boards for China are not too far above those listed on Nvidia’s US site. However, as is often the case with big tech launches of much-desired products with limited stock, scalpers have got their hands on many of the boards and have already started fleecing gamers who are ready to part with the cash, despite the exorbitant prices. Here are some current prices in China (via JD.com):

• RTX 4090: Up to 16,999 yuan (~US$2,368) or up +30.77%
• RTX 4080: Up to 11,999 yuan (~US$1,672) or up +26.32%
• RTX 4070: Up to 6,999 yuan (~US$975) or up +45.84%
• RTX 4060 Ti: Up to 4,999 yuan (~$696) or up +56.27%

Astonishingly, these high prices listed here come from an “authorized reseller”, with cheaper deals available from other sellers on the same marketplace site – even down to almost list price if one searches hard enough, although stock is going to be even more limited via the cheaper sellers.
