New security camera from Xiaomi with local storage can operate autonomously thanks to solar power and rechargeable battery
Xiaomi is about to launch several new smart home products globally. In addition to the new Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X20 vacuum and mopping robot, the manufacturer also recently listed the new Xiaomi Solar Outdoor Camera BW400 Pro Set on its global website.
This means that the smart surveillance camera is likely to come onto the market not only in China, but also in other countries. However, it remains unclear if and when the new Xiaomi Solar Outdoor Camera BW400 Pro Set will arrive in the USA or Europe and how much it will cost. But Xiaomi's global homepage already lists all the features and technical details of the new product.
After Xiaomi announced the global launch of the Xiaomi Smart Camera C500 Pro just a few days ago, the Xiaomi Solar Outdoor Camera BW 400 Pro Set is now the next and even more comprehensively equipped new release in the field of smart security cameras. The new model can operate independently of the power grid, as it has a small solar panel on top and a 10,000 mAh battery.
Xiaomi has installed a 2.5K resolution 4MP camera (f/1.6) with a 132-degree viewing angle and hardware-level HDR based on a 1/2.7-inch sensor. Night vision with infrared and four LEDs is intended to capture a full-color image in the dark. AI helps with the automatic identification of people, animals, vehicles and parcels.
Other features of the camera, which is IP66-rated for outdoor use, include two-way audio and the usual apps, including a link to Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The Xiaomi Solar Outdoor Camera BW400 Pro Set also comes with a base station for backing up recordings on SD memory cards of up to 256 GB.
