New XGIMI MIRA 100-in laser TV with UST projector arrives
The XGIMI 100-in Soft Light Art TV MIRA has been revealed in China. The 1080p laser TV uses XGIMI’s latest Dual-Light technology, combining LED and laser light sources for improved brightness. The ultra-short throw device has a 0.21:1 throw ratio, allowing you to place the projector 24 cm (~9.4 in) from the wall to achieve the 100-in (~39 cm) image.
According to XGIMI, the MIRA has similar brightness levels to an entry-level TV, with 286 nits brightness. However, the brand has also said the projector can deliver up to 900 CCB lumens brightness; CCB is an XGIMI standard, without an official ANSI lumens conversion method. The display supports HDR10 and HLG formats and has an anti-glare finish to make it easier to watch TV during the day. The device has an “art frame”, similar in concept to the Samsung The Frame, with the display showing artwork to disguise the TV when not in use. A proximity sensor can automatically switch the MIRA on or off as you enter or leave the room.
The laser TV has a built-in 2.1 channel audio system devised in partnership with Harman Kardon, featuring two 8W speakers and a separate 15W subwoofer. The sound system supports Dolby Audio and DTS:HD technologies. You can connect gadgets via HDMI 2.1 eARC, USB 2.0 and 3.5 mm audio ports. Other features include voice controls, Bluetooth music playback and wireless screen mirroring. You can now pre-order the XGIMI MIRA TV in China for the pre-sale price of 6,999 yuan (~US$1,006), with a 100 yuan (~US$14) deposit. It is unclear whether this product will reach other markets.
