New GoveeLife Water Leak Detector 1s with Find Device feature now available

The GoveeLife Water Leak Detector 1s is now available in the US. This new model features various upgrades on its predecessor, the Water Leak Detector. It offers dual sensor probes and can detect both drips and floods.

When a leak is detected, the Water Leak Detector 1s’ LED flashes red, and an alarm sounds. The alarm is customizable with four volume settings up to 105dB, and you can set different volumes for day and night in the Govee Home app. On top of this, you can also choose to get app or email notifications to alert you to the issue if you are out of the house. Another new feature in the app is the “Find Device” tool, which helps you locate a misplaced sensor.

Other remote control options include Google Home and Amazon Alexa. Thanks to Sub-1GHz technology, the sensor has a 1,804ft (~550m) communication range, allowing for wider coverage of your home. For reference, the earlier Water Leak Detector only supported distances up to 196ft (~60m). Plus, the Water Leak Detector 1s is said to run for five years on its batteries and is rated as IP67 dust and water-resistant. While Govee describes the model as compact, it does not provide its dimensions.

You can currently buy the GoveeLife Water Leak Detector 1s as part of a set which includes three sensors and a Wi-Fi gateway, priced at $54.99. A single sensor ($15.99) and a pack of three sensors ($47,99) are expected to launch at a later date. As a reminder, a single unit of the original Govee Water Leak Detector costs $12.99 (Amazon).
