Meizu is thought to stay up-to-date with a compact variant for its upcoming 22 series of flagship smartphones.
The famous leaker Digital Chat Station seems to reiterate these rumors with a new claim that the device will be just 71 millimeters (mm) in width, compared to 71.7mm in the OnePlus 13s/13T.
The latter has 2x optical zoom, albeit courtesy of a conventional telephoto lens as opposed to the more up-to-date periscope type like the OnePlus 13, possibly due to its smaller size.
The Meizu 22, on the other hand, is now tipped to outdo its compact rival by packing a periscope zoom despite possibly being the smaller handset.
The camera is backed to be on par with others found in 'normal-sized' top-end smartphones such as the Oppo Find X8 Ultra.
It is thought to be joined at launch in July 2025 alongside a larger 22 Pro silbing that may or may not have the same camera hump with a metallic octagonal bezel.
