Hardly any time has passed since MSI previewed the MPG 242R X60N. Revealed globally on its website, it was unclear when the monitor would be available, let alone for how much. However, MSI has now provided an insight by releasing the monitor in China.
To recap, the MPG 242R X60N leverages a 24.1-inch Fast TN panel that outputs at 1080p and 600 Hz like the AOC Agon Pro AG246FK6, Acer Nitro XV240 F6 and BenQ Zowie XL2586X+ (curr. $999.99 on Amazon). As we discussed last week, the MPG 242R X60N also offers 350 nits peak brightness, 0.1 ms GtG response times, Adaptive-Sync VRR technology and plenty of ports including a 98 W USB Type-C connection. Please see our original launch article for more hardware details.
Currently, JD.com is stocking the MPG 242R X60N for CNY 6,374 (~$886) after subsidies. With that being said, the monitor carries a CNY 7,499 MSRP, which converts to ~$1,043 at current exchange rates. In other words, the MPG 242R X60N may be slightly cheaper than the BenQ Zowie XL2586X+ when it launches globally. The MPG 242R X60N is unlikely to be as cheap as the Nitro XV240 F6 though, which sells for $699.99 in the US and CNY 4,999 in China. Unfortunately, MSI has not yet revealed details about global availability.
