A few months have now passed since Gigabyte first introduced the Aorus FO27Q5P. For context, Gigabyte presented the Aorus FO27Q5P in January during CES 2025 alongside the Aorus MO27U2. While the company then released the Aorus MO27U2 in March, it has left fans waiting for the Aorus FO27Q5P to replace the Aorus FO27Q3 (curr. $649.99 - used on Amazon).
To recap, the Aorus FO27Q5P is one of an increasing number of 27-inch gaming monitors that leverages Samsung Display's recent 500 Hz QD-OLED panel. Also packing a 2,560 x 1,440 resolution, this panel provides 99% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and 300 nits full panel brightness, which drops to 500 nits at 10% APL and 1,000 nits at 3% APL. On top of that, the panel delivers 0.03 ms GtG response times aided by AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G Sync technologies.
Meanwhile, Gigabyte has added Black Frame Insertion (BFI) and OLED anti-flicker modes to maximise motion and image clarity when gaming. Furthermore, the Aorus FO27Q5P boasts a three-year burn-in warranty and 'graphene film technology' to dissipate heat. Gigabyte's first 500 Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor will be available next month with the following ports; the company has not revealed launch pricing yet, though:
- 1x DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR20)
- 1x Mini DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR20)
- 2x HDMI (version unknown)
- 1x USB Type-C (Data/DP Alt Mode/18 W PD)
- 2x USB Type-A
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
