MSI has launched another ultra-fast gaming monitor, hot on the heels of revealing pricing and availability for two 500 Hz examples. This time, the company has upped the refresh rate to 600 Hz to match the Nitro XV240 F6 from Acer and the Agon Pro AG246FK6 from AOC.
As far as we can tell, the MPG 242R X60N shares the same underlying panel technology as its peers. Thus, MSI has installed a 24.1-inch TN panel that outputs at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels with 170°(H)/160°(V) viewing angles, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 350 nits peaks brightness or 500 nits in HDR mode. Allegedly covering 89% and 93% of the AdobeRGB and DCI-P3 colour spaces, respectively, the MPG 242R X60N should deliver 0.1 ms GtG response times that MSI has aided with Adaptive-Sync technology.
MSI has included DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 ports too, as well as three USB 2.0 Type-A connections, a single USB 2.0 Type-B port and a USB Type-C connection that provides DisplayPort Alt Mode and 98 W Power Delivery. MSI has not confirmed pricing or availability yet. However, BenQ charges $999.99 for the similar Zowie XL2586X+. As a result, the MPG 242R X60N might not come cheap. Please see MSI's global website for more technical information about its first 600 Hz gaming monitor.
