Huawei Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro smartwatch users have recently been recruited to beta test a new HarmonyOS 4.2 update. Software version 4.2.0.573 has been reported in China, with 5,000 users said to have been asked to join the program.
The release notes indicate that there is a new watch face featuring workout data, and a dynamic three-ring watch face. Also included are a refreshed interface to enhance the user experience, recommendations for your diet, as well as four new sports: basketball, football, padel, and e-sports. A new ‘cycling linkage function’ has been reported, allowing you to connect your Huawei phone to show real-time cycling data. Runners can now monitor their running form, and there are new smart sports recommendations based on the weather, your favourite activities and potential calorie consumption.
On top of this, there are a range of improvements and bug fixes; you can find the full change log below. According to the release notes, the version 4.2.0.573 software update is 1.98GB in size. It is unclear when this HarmonyOS 4.2 update will roll out publicly and globally to the Huawei Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro (currently €399 at Amazon).
