The Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $1,299.99 on Amazon) are now available to order globally, having been unveiled yesterday at Samsung's latest Galaxy Unpacked event. Incidentally, the trio can be pre-ordered for up to $300 less than their MSRPs, but only until February 6.
As we discussed across our launch articles, the Galaxy S25 trio represents another incremental step for the Galaxy S series over last year's releases. For example, Samsung has finally brought Seamless Update support to its flagship smartphone portfolio.
Although Samsung does not mention the change in any marketing materials, Mishaal Rahman managed to confirm that A/B partitioning features on the Galaxy S25 series during yesterday's Galaxy Unpacked event, unlike all previous Galaxy S models. For some reason, Samsung added Seamless Updates to One UI first with last year's Galaxy A55 but no other tablet or smartphone releases until yesterday.
Also known as A/B partitioning and now Virtual A/B partitioning, Seamless Updates reduces update install times by downloading Android updates on a second partition that a device then makes its active boot partition when rebooting. Seamless Updates allows one to revert to a working partition too, should an issue occur during the update process.
