Barely any time has passed since Anbernic officially introduced the RG406H. Nonetheless, the company has already pressed ahead by revealing more information about what appears to be its next gaming handheld.
Ultimately, the RG406H is another run out for the hardware that underpins the recent RG406V (curr. $229.99 on Amazon). Although Anbernic did not disclose as much initially, its latest teaser underlines that the RG406H does not differ from the RG406V in many areas.
For instance, Anbernic has now confirmed that it has based the RG406H on the Unisoc T820, which it also uses in the RG Cube and the RG556 before that. Moreover, the Unisoc T820 will be joined by 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 128 GB of UFS flash storage and a 5,500 mAh battery.
Furthermore, the company has equipped the RG406H with a pair of Hall effect joysticks, around which it has included RGB lighting rings. Incidentally, Anbernic has gone to lengths to stress that the RG406H 'provides 360° precise movement' and 'rapid input response', presumably in response to complaints of it shipping some recent gaming handhelds that suffer from cardinal snapping. While a release date remains unknown for now, we suspect that the RG406H will be available before the start of December.
