The Galaxy S21 Ultra already supports an S Pen, one of the main features that separated the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note lines. According to reports, Samsung is seeking to take S Pen support further with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, while borrowing design cues from the Galaxy Note series, too.

Ice Universe has changed their tune about the Galaxy Note series once again. Only last week, the leaker claimed that that 'someone in the supply chain has seen evidence of...the next generation Galaxy Note'. Then, they said that Samsung is merging the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S lines, implying that their source had actually seen a next-generation Galaxy S handset, instead.

Now, they have clarified two elements about the next Galaxy S series, presumed to be the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Apparently, the Galaxy S22 series will feature a design that blends a mixture of previous Galaxy S and Galaxy Note smartphones. Reputedly, the rounded corners of the Galaxy S21 series have been replaced with a more squared-off look, albeit not at a right angle as with the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, for example.

Additionally, Ice Universe claims that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will feature an S Pen slot, as previous Galaxy Note models have. Samsung's premier flagship is still expected to include a 5,000 mAh battery though, matching the Galaxy S21 Ultra. If this is the case, then the Galaxy S22 Ultra would seemingly offer everything that the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra does, but with a larger battery and an improved SoC.

To that end, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is thought to utilise the Exynos 2200 and the Snapdragon 898, depending on the country in which you purchase it. The entire Galaxy S22 series could arrive before the year is out too, based on previous rumours.
