The Powkiddy X28 is a compact gaming handheld powered by an entry-level Unisoc Tiger chipset. Available for under US$150, the Powkiddy X28 also has 64 GB of storage and a 5.5-inch display, among other features.

Powkiddy is now selling the X28, a budget gaming handheld based around the Unisoc Tiger T618 SoC. For reference, the chipset features two ARM Cortex-A75 CPU cores and six ARM Cortex-A55 clocked at 2 GHz, as well as a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU. Additionally, Powkiddy pairs the SoC with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of eMMC flash storage. Please note, some Powkiddy X28 units may ship with LPDDR4 RAM, while others may ship with faster LPDDR4X RAM. Powkiddy has not advised why this would be the case.

Elsewhere, the Powkiddy X28 has a 5.5-inch IPS display that operates at 1,280 x 720 pixels and supports touch inputs. Moreover, Powkiddy has installed a 5,000 mAh battery that it rates for up to 5 hours of usage between charges. The Powkiddy X28 also ships with an HDMI port for connecting it to an external monitor, although it is only powerful enough to emulate older titles from Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Advance libraries, among others.

Furthermore, Powkiddy has integrated a full selection of gamepad buttons, including dual analog sticks, shoulder buttons and a d-pad. Currently, the Powkiddy X28 is available in a sole black colourway with an ABS plastic finish. At present, the Powkiddy X28 retails for US$149.99, but Powkiddy claims it may eventually raise its price to US$179.99. Please see the company's website for more details.
