The iPhone 17 Pro and/or Pro Max are projected to launch with more of a camera bar than a camera hump in order to differentiate themselves from their 16 Pro and Pro Max forebears. Users of the former might also be able to tell between them based on performance, according to a new leak.
It asserts that the 17 series will have 12GB of RAM, as opposed to 8GB in the 16 series. Should this new prediction of Digital Chat Station's pan out, the spec will be paired to the upcoming top-end A19 Pro silicon from Apple.
Its status as a 3 nanometer (nm) chipset based on TSMC's advanced N3p node has been re-iterated in this new leak. The 2 upgrades are apparently necessary to sustain the next-gen "upscaled" Apple Intelligence now rumored to feature as part of the iOS build that will debut on the updated 17 series later in 2025.
The real upgrade might come to 2026's iPhone 18 series, which is also now tipped to upgrade to "6-channel LPDDR5X" RAM in what might be even greater quantities. Accordingly, one of those devices might be the one worth holding out for for some consumers.
