The average iPhone has its Apple logo as close to the center of its rear panel as possible - but that will not be the case for the upcoming 17 Pro, according to a famous leaker.
The moderately accurate tipster Majin Bu claims to have learned that the device will have to sport its stylized Apple lower down than usual, and that its updated camera hump design is responsible.
The feature is to be found in the upper left corner, as with the pre-existing 16 Pro, but might acquire a new, longer surround as part of an updated, two-toned appearance.
A re-positioned Apple logo might seem like a trivial change; then again, it does serve some esthetic (and, for some, all-important brand recognition) purposes, and also happens to supply a central accent for those transparent MagSafe cases that tend to have their magnets outlined in white (as in this ESR Classic Hybrid Case for the 16 Pro (now $12.99 on Amazon)) as if to highlight this fact.
Should this new rumor prove true, accessory OEMs are going to have to break the circle toward the bottom in order to showcase the logo.
That might indeed result in a strikingly different look for the ostentatiously MagSafe-compatible case of the near future.
