Yadea ElitePrime launches as an 'SUV of scooters' with a 1,500W max output and up to 40 miles of range
Yadea asserts that its new ElitePrime is a new e-scooter for professionals and commuters, equipped to be "responsive" enough to zip through traffic despite its "SUV-like" presence. Its motor is rated for a peak output of 1,500 watts (W - although it is rated for 800W under most conditions), sustained by a 678Wh battery to power it to a top speed of 18.6 miles per hour (29.9 kilometers per hour) with for up to 40 miles per charge (or ~15% compared to the "average scooter", according to Yadea).
The ElitePrime is also augmented with 10-inch "thickened, tubeless" tires, a ground clearance of 6.1 inches, front and rear shocks and "e-ABS" brakes for enhanced safety and comfort on the street. The scooter is also kitted out with a "motorcycle-grade" headlight as well as an "unique" tail-light made to mimic the Yadea logo, flanked by indicator LEDs.
Despite all that, the ElitePrime still has a typical scooter foldable design that is also rated for automatic fall and runaway prevention, and has an app to help secure and track the scooter if necessary. However, its "upgraded" nature does not come cheap, even on Indiegogo, where it is currently priced at US$699 (or 53% off its MRSP).
Yadea has amassed just over U$56,000 in backing thus far, and projects that its new scooter will ship in May 2023.
