Mazout hypes its inaugural EV as India's first electric cruiser motorbike
India is a country in which 2-wheeled vehicles are ubiquitous, and also one in which the e-mobility craze is currently taking off. Mazout is just one company that seeks to leverage both trends with the release of their own electric motorcycles in the near future.
This start-up, instituted by engineers affiliated to the Delhi Technical University, is working on a bike that, as it claims, will have a unique selling point on its launch. This is because it might be India's first-ever electric cruiser bike at this juncture.
This 'e-cruiser' (or, alternatively, e-touring bike) has a prototype thus far, and is touted to result in a bike fit for longer trips with a range of 350 kilometers (km, or 218 miles) and a top speed of 120km per hour (km/h, or 75 miles per hour). It might achieve these specs with a 6 kilowatt (kW) motor and a 25kWh battery.
Mazout has offered no word on this model's release or availability as yet; however, it is taking reservations for 150km and 300km versions estimated to ship in the third quarter of 2022.
