Xiaomi announces global release date for new Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max smartphones

Xiaomi has now confirmed the release of its next Poco X series smartphones. As expected, the company has elected against directly replacing the Poco X7 (curr. $282 on Amazon). Instead, the company has focused on the successor to the Poco X7 Pro while also adding a new 'Pro Max' tier to the Poco X series.
As the teasers below show, Xiaomi will launch the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max simultaneously on March 17. Seemingly, Xiaomi's global and Indian launches will occur at the same time, with the company scheduling a 12:00 UTC start time for both events. Both smartphones appear to share the same overall designs as the Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max upon which they are based, too.
To that end, Xiaomi confirmed last week that the Poco X8 Pro will line up with MediaTek's Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset. Meanwhile, the Poco X8 Pro is set to feature the Dimensity 9500s. Xiaomi has yet to confirm other hardware specifications. However, both smartphones seem to contain customisable LED rings that surround both rear-facing camera lenses.
