The Xiaomi Redmi Projector and Redmi Projector Pro are now available to pre-order in China. As expected, the gadgets have a native 1080p resolution, with the standard model featuring a black and white casing, while the Pro device is all-black. However, some leaked details, such as the brightness, did not match those since confirmed by Xiaomi. For example, both devices use LED and LCD technology to produce up to 150 ANSI lumens brightness, projecting images up to 100-in (~254 cm) wide thanks to a 1.2:1 throw ratio.
There are two critical differences between the standard and Pro models. Firstly, the Pro has 16 GB storage, while the standard model only has 8 GB. Secondly, the standard product has an automatic vertical correction, upgraded in the Pro variant to include automatic focus, keystone correction and obstacle avoidance. Both projectors have dual built-in 3W speakers, with WANOS technology to deliver a panoramic audio experience. You can connect to the gadgets via USB 2.0 and HDMI ARC ports or wirelessly via dual-band Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 5.0. Plus, you can control the devices with Xiao AI voice commands.
The Redmi projectors are lightweight, weighing 1.2 kg (~2.65 lbs) and measuring 129.5 x 117 x 179.4 mm (~5.1 x 4.6 x 7.1-in). The company claims that the devices are IPX5-rated dustproof, allowing the products to last up to 10 years. You can currently pre-order the Xiaomi Redmi Projector and Redmi Projector Pro in China for 999 yuan (~US$138) and 1,299 yuan (~US$179), respectively; the gadgets are expected to retail for 1,399 yuan (~US$193) and 1,599 yuan (~US$220) in the future.
