MagyarRedmi Note 12 Racing Edition: Xiaomi unveils limited edition smartphone with a striking design
Xiaomi has unleashed the Redmi Note 12 Racing Edition in China, one of many Redmi Note 12 series models that the company has presented. For reference, Xiaomi has also introduced the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus and the Redmi Note 12 Pro Discovery Edition. Seemingly, Xiaomi has sought to distinguish the Redmi Note 12 Racing Edition from its siblings with its design rather than its features.
Specifically, the Redmi Note 12 Racing Edition offers identical specifications to the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, details of which we have discussed separately. In short, the Racing Edition has a Dimensity 1080 SoC like other Redmi Note 12 series models, as well as a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 120 W fast charging, a 6.67-inch display and a 200 MP primary camera. Additionally, Xiaomi bundles a special edition case with the Racing Edition, along with a sticker set and a few other themed elements.
Moreover, Xiaomi claims that the Racing Edition possesses 'holographic suspension technology' that breaks 'through the boundaries'. Based on the marketing images released so far, Xiaomi has created an effect whereby 'RACING' lettering appears to leap from the device's back panel, with drop shadows used to aid this illusion. Limited to 10,000 units, the Racing Edition has a two-tone back panel with 'street style graffiti' elements within its green half and a supposed race track texture on its black half.
Also, Xiaomi has applied green accents around two of the Racing Edition's camera lenses, with the same hue extending to the device's power button. At launch, Xiaomi is only offering the Racing Edition with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for CNY 2,599 (~US$362). Currently, Xiaomi has not confirmed whether it intends to sell the Redmi Note 12 Racing Edition outside China, although its limited edition smartphones tend to be Chinese exclusives.
