TechGoing has revealed most of the specifications for the X90 Pro Plus, a smartphone that is rumoured to be Vivo's flagship for 2023. Emerging during the same week that Vivo showcased X90 camera details, TechGoing alleges that the Vivo X90 Pro Plus will feature the Sony IMX989V, a modified version of the 1-inch sensor in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. According to Vivo, the new sensor would provide 77% better light sensitivity than the X80 Pro Plus' primary camera.
Additionally, the Vivo X90 Pro Plus is rumoured to contain a 64 MP telephoto camera (OmniVision OV64A) with 3.5x optical zoom capabilities. For reference, the OmniVision OV64A has a 1/1.34-inch optical format, which is much larger than equivalent telephoto camera sensors. Moreover, TechGoing claims that the Vivo X90 Pro Plus features the Sony IMX578 as its portrait camera, a 50 MP sensor.
Furthermore, Vivo is slated to round out the rear-facing camera selection with the Sony IMX598, a 1/2-inch and 48 MP sensor that will serve as an ultra-wide-angle camera. Incidentally, Vivo has used the sensor in the same configuration in the X70 Pro Plus, the X80 Pro and the X80 Pro Dimensity. Predictably, Vivo will offer the X90 Pro Plus with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, along with a large, high resolution and fast AMOLED display. Allegedly, the smartphone will power its 2K and 120 Hz display with a 4,700 mAh battery that supports 80 W wired fast charging. Unfortunately, prices and availability have not leaked yet.
