Apple iPhone 14 Plus: An XXL version of the iPhone 14
Apple's iPhone 14 device family comes with a big change compared to last year's lineup. Since the sales figures of the 5.4-inch iPhone 13 Mini - much like the sales numbers of the iPhone 12 Mini - were likely too low, it has been discontinued. Instead, there is now an iPhone 14 Plus alongside the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max to complete the current iPhone lineup.
Most Lightweight 6.7-inch Apple Smartphone
The iPhone 14 Plus takes the opposite approach to that of the iPhone 13 Mini in terms of the form factor. With 6.7 inches, it is exactly as big as the iPhone 14 Pro Max, making it the biggest non-Pro Apple smartphone thus far. At the same time, it is able to claim the title for being the lightest 6.7-inch smartphone from Apple.
While Apple relies on a stainless steel frame for its Pro series smartphones, the "standard" iPhones instead come with an aluminum frame. As a result, the iPhone 14 Plus comes in at a total weight of 7.16 oz, whereas the iPhone 14 Pro Max weighs 8.47 oz, making the latter subjectively feel significantly heavier in the hand.
Excellent Battery Life
The Plus version of the iPhone 14 only really deviates from the base model in two aspects: The display and the battery. The former has a slightly higher resolution (iPhone 14: 2532 x 1170 pixels vs. iPhone 14 Plus: 2778 x 1284 pixels) with the same fixed 60-Hz refresh rate. The differences in terms of the battery are much more significant, however. With 4323 mAh, the iPhone 14 Plus carries a significantly larger battery than the iPhone 14 (3279 mAh). In our testing, the battery life is significantly better as a result with runtimes that we had previously only observed on the pro models.
