Xiaomi has launched the Book Air 13 in China, where it retails from CNY 5,999 (~US$836). Available with a choice between the Core i5-1230U and the Core i7-1250U, the Xiaomi Book Air 13 combines a 2.8K OLED display with a 58.3 Wh battery, 16 GB of fast RAM and a 512 GB SSD.

Xiaomi has been rather busy today. Not only has the company debuted the Redmi Note 12 series, but it has also unveiled the Book Air 13, an ultrabook that packs plenty of features into its 12 mm frame. Weighing 1.2 kg, the Book Air 13 offers an aluminium case, two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Although the device's port selection is on the stingy side, the inclusion of a 3.5 mm headphone jack is not guaranteed, as has proven the case with the XPS 13 9315 and the Surface Pro 9 series.

At the heart of the Book Air 13 is a 58.3 Wh battery that supports 67 W fast charging. According to Xiaomi, the laptop comes in Core i5-1230U and Core i7-1250U flavours, both with 16 GB of LPDDR5-5200 RAM and a 512 GB SSD. For reference, both processors belong to the Intel Alder Lake-U series, have 10 cores, 12 threads and 9 W TDPs. However, the Core i7-1250U has higher clock speeds than its Core i5 sibling, as well as a more powerful iGPU.

Additionally, the Book Air 13 has a 13.3-inch OLED display that outputs at 2,880 x 1,800 pixels in a 16:10 aspect ratio. Supposedly, the display peaks at 600 nits and offers full DCI-P3 colour space coverage. Incidentally, the laptop has a convertible hinge, which explains Xiaomi's decision to include touchscreen and stylus support. The Book Ari 13 starts at CNY 5,999 (~US$836) in its Core i5 configuration and rises to CNY 6,999 (~US$975) for the Core i7 edition. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has not confirmed whether it intends to offer the Book Air 13 globally yet.
