HP recently started shipping its latest 2022 Envy x360 13 convertible with Intel 12th gen U-series processors. SKUs would include either 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM with various CPU and storage options ranging from $900 up to $1200 USD for the highest option. Best Buy, however, is already heavily discounting one specific SKU despite how new the model is.
The SKU with the Core i7-1250U CPU, 8 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, and 1200p IPS touchscreen is currently selling for just $700 USD or $350 off the initial launch price. The sale is notable as most other sales typically involve older or outgoing models. We have our suspicions that Best Buy is just trying to get rid of this specific configuration as the limited 8 GB of RAM can be a hard sell to most consumers.
We had a chance to review this exact Best Buy configuration and found that performance would still be excellent for browsing and other light loads, but graphics-intensive tasks would suffer and be slower than expected from the integrated Iris Xe GPU. If you only plan to use the system for emailing, streaming, and browsing, then the low RAM capacity shouldn't be too big of a deal.
