VAVA's Chroma followed the trend toward high-res, short-throw projectors with theoretically resilient, reliable laser sources and, possibly most importantly, elevated brightness specs right onto Indiegogo, whereupon it became one of the most successful gadgets on that platfrom in 2021.
The projector has migrated to normal commercial sales since then, and is now sold on VAVA's own website for one. The brand has announced a "Sneaky Black Friday" weekend deal for 2022, in which the Chroma goes for US$2,499.99 as opposed to its usual US$3,499.99.
It remains one of the highest-spec'd ultra short throw (UST) projectors on the market; then again, its UI is based on Android 9.0 (Pie) with Aptoide.
For those less thrilled with spending that much, VAVA also lists its newer 4K Laser TV (or "Luma") at US$1,949.99, or a saving of US$850. It is rated for 1,800 ANSI lumens as opposed to 2,200 in the flagship Chroma, as well as ALPD 3.0 rather than 4.0 and an older Android 7.1 (Nougat)-based UI.
Then again, the 2 devices still rock dual 30W Harman Kardon-branded speakers and an 80-150 inch throw at short range.
Their maker has also reduced many of its security cameras and other devices such as webcams or portable SSDs by 20% during this sale. However, it is only on from now until tomorrow (November 6, 2022) on vava.com
Alternatively, grab a WEMAX Nova 4K UHD UST laser projector with Android TV and HDR10 on Amazon.
