MagyarXiaomi Mijia Graphene Baseboard Heater Fire Edition arrives in China with fake flames
Xiaomi has released a Simulated Flame version of its Mijia Graphene Baseboard Heater in China. The gadget is almost identical to the recently revealed Graphene Baseboard Heater. As with the standard model, the device has two Graphene heating elements, allowing you to heat your home to between 16 and 28 °C (61 and 82 °F). Xiaomi claims that the heater can boost the temperature in an average-sized room by 4 °C (~7 °F) in as little as 10 minutes.
The gadget creates its fire illusion using a series of red LEDs and water vapor, generated using the built-in water tank and humidifier and pushed upwards through the device. The humidifier also ensures that the atmosphere in the room does not dry out due to the heater. Xiaomi goes so far as to suggest that the heat and moisture in the air could create a hot spring spa-like experience. You can control the device via the Xiaomi Mijia app or with Xiao AI voice commands.
Alternatively, you can adjust the device’s settings using an integrated touch panel on top of the gadget. You can currently pre-order the Xiaomi Mijia Graphene Baseboard Heater Simulated Flame Version in China for 1,299 yuan (~US$179) with a 100 yuan (~US$14) deposit; the gadget is expected to retail for 1,599 yuan (~US$220) in the future. It is unclear whether or when Xiaomi could launch the device in other markets, such as North America and the EU.
