Oxfo OX1 e-bike with 135 km range and patented folding frame will soon crowdfund on Indiegogo
The Oxfo OX1 will shortly begin crowdfunding on Indiegogo. Four models are available: OX1 Azure Blue, OX1 MAX Rose Gold, OX1 US Matte Black and OX1 MAX US Grey. The OX1 variants have a 6.4 Ah battery, providing up to 100 km (~62 miles) assistance range, while the OX1 MAX bikes have a larger 7.0 Ah battery to deliver power for up to 135 km (~84 miles). The Samsung batteries take three to four hours to charge.
All models have a 250 W brushless rear motor, with three assistance levels available. The bike is limited to a top speed of 25 kph (~16 mph) in the EU or 35 kph (~22 mph) in the US; the US models can also have a pure electric assist mode with a thumb throttle. The bicycles have dual braking with electric and disc brakes; the OX1 MAX versions have hydraulic disc brakes. Other features of the e-bike include a rear shock absorber to provide a comfortable ride and front and rear LED lights for your safety. An integrated LED display lets you switch modes and view the battery charge level.
The lightweight, foldable bike weighs 16.5 kg (~36.4 lbs), with a 3.5 kg (~7.7 lbs) patented unibody frame made from a magnesium alloy unibody frame. When folded, the vehicle measures 720 x 350 x 580 mm (~28.7 x 13.8 x 22.8-in), making it easy to transport or store. You can currently sign up to the Oxfo mailing list to get the 32% off Early Bird Perk; it is unclear how much the bike will cost.
