The YUNMI VIOMI Portable Graphene Baseboard Electric Heater with Simulation Flame is now crowdfunding in China via Xiaomi Youpin. The device is similar to the recently revealed Mijia Graphene Baseboard Heater Simulated Flame edition. However, the device has a broader temperature range, from 5 to 35 °C (~41 to 95 °F), with up to 2,200 W heating power. Graphene elements rapidly heat your room, and you can set a timer for the device for 1 to 24 hours. There are four heating modes available, including an energy-saving mode.
Another upgrade of the YUNMI product versus its Mijia equivalent is adding a plasma ion system to purify your room, absorbing fine dust. The flame effect is generated similarly, using red LEDs and mist generated by a built-in humidification unit. The humidifier has an 800 ml (~27 fl. oz) water tank and dispenses water at 120 ml/h (~4 fl. oz/h) to reduce the drying impact of the heater on the room’s atmosphere. You can adjust the heater’s settings via an integrated touch control panel or the Mijia app.
The company claims the heater is IPX4 waterproof and anti-scalding, measuring 1,100 x 210 x 175 mm (~43.3 x 8.3 x 6.9-in). You can currently receive the YUNMI VIOMI Portable Graphene Baseboard Electric Heater with Simulation Flame when you pledge 999 yuan (~US$139) to the Youpin campaign. The gadget is expected to retail for 1,299 yuan (~US$181) in the future and will ship to customers from November 29.
