Signify has announced the Philips Hue Festavia smart string lights to celebrate the festive season. The product features 250 mini smart LEDs set over a 20 m (~66 ft) cord. As with other Philips Hue products, you can control the smart lights via an app, where you can adjust settings such as the brightness of the lights and switch them on or off. You can also set a timer or schedule for the lights to automate them. Plus, you can choose your color or set a color gradient along the string.
You can link the Festavia string lights to other Philips Hue products and sync them to flash, dim or brighten in time with music using Spotify or Samsung SmartThings integrations. The company suggests using the Festavia smart lights to decorate a Christmas tree or a staircase. As well as the Festavia string lights, Signify has also revealed a new Sparkle effect, making the lights appear to twinkle.
You can find the feature in the Hue app alongside other effects, such as Candle and Fireplace. A new style, Scattered, is also available to customers, which allows you to have up to five colors randomly distributed along your string lights; the Linear style delivers a seamless gradient instead. The Philips Hue Festavia string lights will launch on November 15 in Europe and the US for US$159.99 or €159.99, exclusively at the Philips Hue online store.
