ECOVACS GOAT G1 robot lawn mower unveiled with dual cameras and ToF sensors
ECOVACS has announced the GOAT G1 robotic lawn mower. A TrueMapping localization system, with a 360° panoramic camera and a 150° fish-eye camera, provides a visible range of 100 m (~328 ft) and scans at up to 25 frames per second. With GPS technology, the robot has a position accurate to within a few centimeters, and ultra-wideband wireless carrier wave communication ensures the device always has signal.
The GOAT G1 uses the AIVI 3D algorithm with vision and ToF sensors to detect and avoid obstacles. The gadget can mow an area of up to 600 m² (~6,458 ft²) per day and tackle inclines up to 45%. The mower has a 22 cm (~8.7-in) cutting width, and you can choose a cutting height from 3 to 6 cm (~2.4-in) across 13 levels in the ECOVACS smartphone app. The device is equipped with a 5.2 Ah battery and is rated as IPX6 waterproof.
You can use physical boundary posts, rather than a boundary wire, to control where the robot works; ECOVACS suggests the boundary setup using the app takes around 20 minutes. The ECOVACS GOAT G1 robot lawn mower will launch in China and Europe in March 2023. The company has yet to indicate how much the gadget will cost and whether or when it will launch in other markets, such as North America.
