Reviews for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G

The Redmi Note 14 Pro brings several premium features to the mid-range segment, staying true to Xiaomi’s tradition of offering value-packed devices. Its standout design, with an IP68 rating and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, makes it a durable and stylish option in its price range. The primary camera and the vibrant AMOLED display add to its appeal, especially for casual users who prioritise aesthetics and multimedia. However, the phone faces tough competition from rivals like the Motorola Edge 50 Neo and the OnePlus Nord CE4, which offer cleaner software experiences and slightly better overall performance. While the Redmi Note 14 Pro’s battery and charging speeds are decent for most users, heavy gamers or power users might find alternatives more suited to their needs.

Alright, so I better wrap up my review of the new Redmi Note 14 Pro. And as you’ve probably already guessed by now, I’m not its biggest fan in the world. I know that there are definitely a bunch of things to love about this guy. Including its gorgeous design, that fantastic display, and multi-day battery life. And also its durability thanks to all those IP ratings and the Victus 2 glass. But unless you are literally the clumsiest person on Earth, I can’t recommend the Redmi Note 14 Pro for some 25,000 Indian rupees. And I think instead of spending on all those IP certifications, Xiaomi should have invested in a better chipset and better cameras. So depending on your priority, you can shop from much better alternatives instead.

Priced at Rs 27,000 for the top-end variant, the Redmi Note 14 Pro commands a slight premium for a mid-range phone. But the extra cost feels justified when you look at what it offers — especially the standout display and long-lasting battery life. The display, though not a 2K panel, is impressively sharp and more than sufficient for most users. Its colour reproduction and contrast are exceptional, rivalling those of premium devices that cost nearly twice as much. If visuals are a priority for you, this phone delivers in spades. Performance-wise, the Note 14 Pro is solid, provided your expectations are realistic. It handles everyday tasks with ease and manages casual gaming well enough. However, if you push it too hard — whether it’s multitasking or demanding games — you might notice the occasional stutter.

Priced from Rs 24,999, the Redmi Note 14 Pro offers a vibrant display and excellent battery life, making it a strong contender for content consumption and general use. While its camera performance and software could use improvement, it remains a solid option for users seeking an all-rounder mid-range smartphone.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro brings several upgrades over its predecessor, including a brighter and premium curved display, better cameras and a larger battery life. However, the performance isn’t the best in class, and Xiaomi also needs to improve its charging speed. I thoroughly enjoyed using the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro during my review, and it’s an easy phone to recommend if you are not an intense gamer. You can also consider other options like the Realme 13 Pro 5G, Poco X6 Pro 5G and the Motorola Edge 40 Neo.

Both the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus are excellent smartphones for the price they ask for. These two phones have delivered everything a mid-range phone should and then some. Let’s start with the design, which is fantastic and comes in some excellent colors. You can even buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro in the eco-leather variant, which is even more premium. The two phones have a great display that is properly calibrated to provide great visuals, HDR, and higher brightness when using it outdoors. The chipsets are also quite good and can run some of the most graphically demanding games at high framerates. The camera performance of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro and 14 Pro Plus are also quite good.

Xiaomi's Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus and the slightly more stripped-back 14 Pro should launch globally soon, bringing their upgraded camera tech, gaming prowess etc to the UK. For now here's a look at the Chinese versions of these mid-range smartphones, with obligatory knob gags and cursing. The Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G looks like one of the best phones around if you want premium specs for an affordable price.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro combines sleek design, robust performance, and impressive battery life into a mid-range smartphone. With a slim profile of 162.3 mm by 74.4 mm and a weight of 190g, the device is easy to handle and offers IP68/IP69K water and dust resistance, ensuring durability in everyday use. Its boxy silhouette, refined edges, and minimalistic rear camera module with a circular flash add to its modern aesthetics. Available in Black, White, Purple, and Green, the phone also features a matte finish that resists fingerprints. The IR blaster continues to be a standout, allowing users to control smart home devices. The 6.67-inch AMOLED display is a key highlight, offering a sharp 1220 x 2712 resolution and 446 ppi pixel density. Enhanced by Dolby Vision and HDR10+, the display ensures vibrant, sharp visuals. A 120Hz refresh rate guarantees smooth scrolling, while the peak brightness of 3000 nits makes it highly legible outdoors. The Always-On Display feature offers quick access to notifications without unlocking the phone. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 further adds durability, protecting the screen from scratches and drops. Powering the Redmi Note 14 Pro is the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset, built on a 4nm process. It features an octa-core CPU with 4x2.5 GHz Cortex-A78 cores for demanding tasks and 4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores for everyday use. The Mali-G615 MC2 GPU ensures smooth graphics performance, making the device suitable for gaming and media consumption. The phone offers multiple storage options: 128GB with 8GB RAM, 256GB with 8GB or 12GB RAM, and a top-end 512GB with 12GB RAM. However, there is no microSD card slot, so users must rely on the internal storage.
The camera setup on the Redmi Note 14 Pro is impressive for its class. The 50 MP primary sensor (with f/1.5 aperture and OIS) delivers clear, detailed photos even in low light. It’s paired with an 8 MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.2, 120° field of view) and a 2 MP macro lens (f/2.4) for close-ups. The rear camera supports 4K video recording at 24/30fps and 1080p at various frame rates, with gyro-EIS for stable footage. The 20 MP selfie camera (f/2.2) also captures detailed images and supports 1080p video recording. The 5500 mAh battery ensures long-lasting performance, capable of handling heavy usage throughout the day. The phone supports 45W wired charging with PD3.0, allowing for quick recharges. Despite the large battery, the phone remains lightweight and comfortable. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC (region-dependent). The phone also features GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, and QZSS for precise location tracking. Stereo speakers with Hi-Res audio support provide an immersive sound experience, while the in-display fingerprint scanner ensures security. Sensors like the accelerometer, gyro, compass, and ultrasonic are also included for enhanced functionality. In summary, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro stands out with its sleek design, solid performance, and impressive camera capabilities, all powered by a long-lasting battery. It’s an excellent choice for users looking for a reliable, well-rounded smartphone in the mid-range segment.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
