Pros
Cons
The Realme 16 Pro is a slim 7.8mm, 192g mid-range phone that emphasizes durability with IP68/IP69K protection and a modern design with plastic or eco-leather style backs. It features a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support and a high-resolution 2772×1272 output. Battery life is a major highlight thanks to a 7000mAh silicon-carbon cell, and reviewers generally describe day-to-day use as smooth and dependable. Camera hardware is led by a 200MP main sensor (plus an 8MP secondary) and a 50MP selfie camera, delivering a solid overall shooting experience, though some note overprocessing. Connectivity is comprehensive, including 5G, Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, USB‑C PD and dual SIM. The main criticism centers on value and performance at its price point, with the chipset choice viewed as a compromise versus alternatives in the segment.

Reviews for the Realme 16 Pro

The Realme 16 Pro gets many of the fundamentals right. Its vibrant display, excellent battery life, loud stereo speakers and sturdy build make it a reliable daily driver for most people. You can comfortably get through a full day of social media, streaming and casual gaming without worrying about charging. However, it isn’t without its drawbacks. The chipset is underwhelming for the price, there’s no telephoto camera for a more versatile photography experience, and the phone tends to run warm during extended gaming sessions.

Realme launched the Realme 16 Pro on January 6, 2026, and it hit the market just two days later. It is a slim and modern phone with a 7.8 mm thickness, weighing 192g, and offered in both regular plastic and eco-friendly silicone polymer (eco leather) backs. It also achieves IP68/IP69K rating, so water, dust, and even high-pressure jets are not an issue, making it more rugged than most slim mid-range phones. On the front sits a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 1B colors, and high PWM for comfort.

The Realme 16 Pro is, by most measures, a good mid-range phone. It delivers strong battery life, a capable 200-megapixel main camera, and a smooth, bright display that performs well in everyday use. As a daily driver, it is reliable and easy to live with. However, it is difficult to ignore the pricing. At Rs 31,999, the decision to move from a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 to the Dimensity 7300 chip feels like a compromise driven by rising component costs rather than user benefit. This effectively makes the current performance level the new default for Realme at this price, while the Realme 16 Pro Plus retains the Snapdragon chip at a significantly higher cost.

The Realme 16 Pro starts at Rs 31,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant. At a time when reports are surfacing that the smartphone industry is set for a price hike, Realme has managed to keep the prices unchanged from last year. For the asking price, the Realme 16 Pro offers a good camera experience and solid battery life. The design also looks fresh, and the display is quite good, too. The performance may not be the best in the segment, but for an average user, it will do the job. So, the Realme 16 Pro brings a good overall package for someone who wants a good camera, a bright display and long battery life, and for what it’s worth, you won’t need to shell out more for the device compared to its predecessor.

To conclude, the Realme 16 Pro series does bring some interesting upgrades over its predecessors. The Realme 16 Pro+ packs a punch when it comes to the design. The Gold colour option looks and feels premium, while still maintaining that unique proposition. The display is yet another major strong suit of the smartphone, while the performance is decent. The camera needs minor improvements to address the overprocessing issue. However, the battery life is on par with the rest of the competition. Coming to the Realme 16 Pro, it is a more practical device built for everyday use. You still get a premium, silky design, and the flat frame makes it easier to hold in your hand.
