Xiaomi's in-house Mi code appears to have confirmed the company's plan to launch the Poco F7 both in India and globally. Unfortunately, global buyers of the sub-premium phone will have to deal with a rather significant battery disadvantage.

Xiaomi is expected to launch the Poco F7 soon, with a recent leak indicating that the phone could be slated to debut later in May. While the company's launch plans for the sub-premium phone remain unconfirmed, an even newer leak has now provided some clarity on that.

As shared by leaker @paperking13 on X (formerly Twitter), Xiaomi is readying the Poco F7 to launch both globally and in India. Unfortunately, though, the Poco F7 is geared to be sold on the global market with a noticeably hamstrung battery.

The leak shows what appears to be a section of Xiaomi's in-house code for the Poco F7, with the phone being listed with a 6,500 mAh battery for its global version. The Indian and—presumably—Chinese models are listed with a 7,550 mAh battery, further lending credence to indications of the Poco F7 being a rebadged Redmi Turbo 4 Pro for markets outside China. Both Poco F7 models are listed with 90 W charging, thankfully.

This isn't the first time this year that Xiaomi has sold a phone on the global market with a smaller battery, with the Xiaomi 15 series also toeing a similar line. The Poco X7 Pro (buy on Amazon) was the same, as it launched globally with a 6,000 mAh battery but in India with a 6,550 mAh unit—the same as its Chinese version, the Redmi Turbo 4
