Reviews for the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro 5G
The Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro shows top performance in many areas, but it doesn't exclusively use high-end components, which is why you can get it for around 550 Euros (~$671). Nevertheless, it's as fast as Xiaomi's Mi 10 Pro flagship with the Snapdragon 865; this is combined with 5G, a 144 Hz display, a 108 MP camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery.

Despite good color handling and adequate scores for motion and touch, the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro 5G’s performance came up short in our Display test protocol. Its particularly poor showing for video, combined with brightness non-uniformity and especially poor readability when held at an angle, had a significant impact on its overall score.

The Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro 5G shows quite good autonomy in the high-end segment, besting the competition by more than half a day’s longevity in our typical usage scenario. Further, its larger battery capacity helped keep it ahead of the other devices in nearly all of our calibrated use cases, with the notable exception of camera use, during which power drained quickly. But camera aside, the Xiaomi device retained an overall advantage in autonomy whether lightly or intensively used. However, one significant drawback was that the Mi 10T Pro took about a half-hour longer to reach a full charge than its two rivals in this review, due in no small measure to having only a 33W charger versus the 65W chargers of both the Oppo and OnePlus devices. Still, users should be very satisfied with the Mi 10T Pro 5G’s overall battery performance.

Having recently told you about the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite now I get the change to test the 10T Pro. This is a larger offering and my ruler tells me it is 6.5 inches from screen corner to corner. As you might expect for such a large screen it is also somewhat heavier.

So while the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro sounds like a great catch, it is, but only if you're not concerned about anything else besides the phone performance (with some caveats) at a nice price point. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for and it does hold true for the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro.

From photography to functionality, the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro offers great value, and makes for an appealing alternative for those who want premium smartphone features without having to pay the full price. Its processing power, in particular, is an absolute bargin – not many mid-range models can lay claim to one of the best processors around, but Xiaomi beats the competition by combining that prowess with the allure of a 144Hz display. There’s no denying the phone’s solid quality and more-than-respectable performance, except that it isn’t a fit for everyone: its bulky heft, fingerprint-attracting rear, and LCD technology might not gel well with the expectations of some users.

The Mi 10T Pro 5G heralds something of a return to Xiaomi’s roots of delivering mid-range smartphones with a number of impressive features. Its high-end processor, 144 Hz display, and 108 MP Quad-Bayer sensor will be big draws for consumers after a high-performance device at a more affordable price point than a full-fledged flagship. Of course, savings have to be made somewhere and so Xiaomi ditched the tele-lens module found on the Mi 10 Pro and the Mi 10 Ultra. As a result, this latest T variant isn’t on the same level for zoom shots, instead relying on digital zoom, but you still get a respectable ultra-wide camera for cramming more scene into the frame. The main camera is also very competent outdoors and indoors, which will satisfy the main demands of most users, and the Mi 10T Pro 5G delivers nice videos, too. In summary, this model isn’t quite on par with Xiaomi’s best camera phones, which deliver better low-light and zoom performance, but it certainly holds its own in the mid-range segment.

It rocks when you’re using it on a desk because of that protruding camera arrangement and the camera does struggle a little in low light. I tried with the supplied case but the “rocking” was still there, but whilst in the box I was able to confirm that you get a 33W charger and there’s also a USB-C-to-3.5mm converter should you have a favourite pair of non-Bluetooth headphones you’d like to use.

At a price of Rs. 39,999, the Mi 10T Pro is a clear winner in the premium segment. It has 144Hz high refresh rate screen, 108MP camera, offers good performance, offers all-day battery life and comes with support for fast charging. Some might prefer an AMOLED screen for the blacks and always-on screen, but I can say the LCD screen in the 10T Pro offers excellent colour reproduction and the 144Hz refresh arte offers the best experience. The phone lacks IP ratings for water resistance, and the ultra-wide camera is just average when it comes to videos.

While the Mi 10T Pro offers powerful hardware, it doesn't cost as much as the Xiaomi Mi 10 (Review) did at launch. This move makes the Mi flagship series accessible to more consumers. However, the reduced price means there are a few compromises, such as the LCD instead of an AMOLED display, and a lack of wireless charging, compared to the Mi 10.

The Mi 10T Pro is a capable mid-range smartphone that ticks all the boxes, save design. That said, look elsewhere if you prefer compact, lightweight handsets because this one isn't as much a design marvel as it is a performer. If you aren't averse to size and weight, the Mi 10T Pro should be the first choice among any other midrange smartphone because there is not one parameter on which it or falters. Moreover, there are tons of value-added features that makes it an easy-to-use smartphone – something that can't be said for most others in its segment.

Xiaomi Mi 1oT Pro comes with a starting price tag of Rs 39,999 and it packs all the important features of a premium smartphone. The device is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 865 processor and packs 5,000 mAh battery with support for fast charging. The device features a triple rear camera and a big display with 144Hz of refresh rate. All these things make this smartphone a complete package and a good deal. Still, if you are looking for alternatives, then you can consider buying the OnePlus 8T which retails at a slightly higher price tag.

The Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro is a great phone for its price, with a main camera that takes good pictures, a powerful processor and a fairly long-lasting battery. It’s not perfect - we had issues with its size, screen quality and the way the back picked up fingerprints too much, but some might not mind these shortcomings at all. In general it’s a pretty good handset, but it’s not for everyone.

The camera is one big area that needs a lot of improvement, and without the tiny chinks in the software, the Mi 10T Pro’s usage experience is smooth and hassle-free. As for video, it shoots at up to 8K resolution, which is frankly overkill for most. Thankfully, you can drop things to 4K 60fps resolution, and Xiaomi does a great job of steadying footage with a combination of optical and electronic image stabilisation.

It depends. If you do care about a 144Hz screen, a 108MP camera and a 5000mAh battery on a smartphone, you can spend Rs 40,000 on the Mi 10T Pro. I think the Mi 10T Pro would be enough for me as a power user, but let me tell you that there are alternatives to this phone available in the market.

The Mi 10T Pro 5G has a 108-megapixel primary rear camera, while the Mi 10T 5G has a 64-megapixel sensor. This is pretty much the main difference between these two phones. The back of the Mi 10T Pro 5G also has 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and 5-megapixel macro cameras. The selfie camera has a 20-megapixel resolution. The camera features are similar to what we saw on the Mi 10 5G, which include 8K video recording, manual video mode, etc. There's a lot to test here, and so far, the specifications look promising.

If Xiaomi came out with the Mi 10T Pro a month ago, it would have been an easy recommendation. Not that it's not right now, but Samsung's newest addition to the Galaxy S20 family keeps us from recommending Xiaomi's contender right away. It all boils down to priorities - if it's the battery life, the Mi 10T Pro is the answer, but if it's the overall feature set and the display, go with the Fan Edition.

Qualcomm Adreno 650: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 25% faster than the Adreno 640 in the Snapdragon 855 SoC and offers 50% more compute units (ALUs). For Android it should be one of the fastest graphics cards in 2020.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

SD 865: High-end SoC for smartphones that was introduced in late 2019 and manufactured in 7 nm at TSMC (improved N7P). Integrates one “Prime Core” based on a ARM Cortex-A77 architecture clocked at up to 2.84 GHz. Three more performance cores are also based on the A77 but clock up to 2.42 GHz. Furthermore, four energy saving cores are integrated that are based on the ARM Cortex-A55 architecture and clock at up to 1.8 GHz. In addition to the processor cores, the SoC integrates a WiFi 6 modem (including 60 GHz mmWave support), a Hexagon 698 DSP (up to 15 TOPS) and a Spectra 480 ISP. The integrated memory controller now supports faster LPDDR5 memory with up to 2,750 MHz. LTE is not included anymore in the SoC, but the external Snapdragon X55 5G modem has to be used.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
