Reviews for the Xiaomi 12X
The Xiaomi 12X is a rather good-looking and conveniently compact smartphone offering plenty of power for comparatively little money. At the time of writing, it was Xiaomi's most affordable gateway to their premium series of smartphones. Let's take a look, shall we?

So let’s wrap up this Xiaomi 12X review. In spite of its mesmerizing design that is to die for, I’m afraid I can’t recommend this phone that easily. I wanted to like this phone so bad but above all, my biggest issue with the 12X is that it somehow doesn’t feel like a confident standalone phone. Instead, it has hints of the classic marketing technique where a company intentionally makes a product look less appealing to sell something more expensive. Going by Xiaomi’s recommended retail pricing, the 12 and 12X are just 100 dollars apart. For that added cost, you’re getting the latest flagship processor that’ll age a lot better, the newest software with guaranteed updates, wireless charging, and a few other touch-ups. And you know what, all this could easily be worth the extra money to most people. Yet, if that doesn’t apply to you, and you’re just looking for a compact yet capable Android phone, then the Xiaomi 12X is still a decent buy. No, it’s not a great value-for-money device that we usually expect from Xiaomi.

Xiaomi 12X Review 3 Months after release, I think it's better than the Xiaomi 12, and Xiaomi 12 Pro for most people! It's cheaper, great size. No overheating issues and the same build as the larger model. Xiaomi 12X NFC 5G Smartphone

The more I'm using the Xiaomi 12X, the more I'm appreciating the form factor. Thanks to its curved screen, it fits perfectly in the hand, even when using the transparent case that comes with it, and I absolutely love the fingerprint-rejecting etched glass back. I was even able to find remedy for the awful edge touch rejection I've experienced by decreasing the sensitivity in settings. It baffles me that the phone doesn't ship with that option enabled by default, as I haven't noticed any downsides like rejected intentional touches on the sides of the screen. Of course, most of these things can probably be said about regular Xiaomi 12 that comes in the same form factor but with a better processor, a newer Android version, and wireless charging, so this isn't a unique selling point. In fact, everything I really like about the 12X can also be found on the regular 12, which is arguably a better phone. My conviction that the 12X only exists to tempt you to get the 12 instead has just been strengthened this past month.

The Xiaomi 12X is a good overall device that will catch the eye of a few prospective phone buyers for a number of reasons. First, the device is on the smaller side compared to other flagship smartphones and despite its $649 price, it looks and feels like a well-made and premium device. While you aren’t getting the latest chip from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 870 is still plenty powerful for everyday tasks. Plus you’re still getting a 120Hz AMOLED display, fast 67W charging and a set of cameras that works well in most situations. There are some downsides to the Xiaomi 12X like the lack of wireless charging, official waterproofing and MIUI won’t be to everyone’s tastes. If you want better cameras, look to the Pixel 6, otherwise the Realme GT 2 will be an excellent choice if your heart isn't set on a metal and glass design.

Rather not. The company is using the $650 12X to upsell you to the more expensive models, with some arbitrary limitations on the processor, wireless charging capabilities, and software update promises to serve as a reason to entice you to get the $750 Xiaomi 12 instead. If you don’t care for these or absolutely need to save that $100, then the Xiaomi 12X might be the top-of-the-line Xiaomi phone for you, though. Luckily for Xiaomi, the company is mostly catering towards markets that don’t offer the Google Pixel lineup, so the obvious conclusion — just get a Pixel 6 instead — might not be an option. Instead, the Xiaomi 12X should make you think really hard about what you value in a smartphone. Are you content with a petite, easy-to-hold smartphone with excellent battery life? Or would you rather pay just a little more for a phone that will offer software and security updates for the foreseeable future, if you've got your eyes set on a Xiaomi phone?

Obviously, there are better phones than the 12X, even if there is no match for its display. The Xiaomi 12X is a brand-new phone, and as it always happens, aging flagships are now cheaper and sometimes a preferable purchase over the 12X. Still, the Xiaomi 12X is an easily likable smartphone with a reasonable price in 2022 terms, and we think it has everything to become a best-seller. Our suggestion for you is to exhaust all options around the €650-€700 price range, weigh the pros and cons, and then proceed to buy what suits you best. We are sure you will like the Xiaomi 12X as we did if you decide to get it. We do recommend this phone even at this price, though we will do it even more passionately when it gets its first price cut.

Undoubtedly, the Xiaomi 12X is an excellent phone that brings a robust set of attributes, though it’s not on par with the latest gen chipset phones. But still, it will outperform the Pixel 6 series, and brings better processing result. The camera quality is enhanced with the AI software, while the photos and videos quality stays constant in each mode. Battery life might feel underwhelming for heavy usage. But overall the Xiaomi 12X is an astounding phone that offers an elegant design layout. However, for some reason, you didn’t like the phone, the Motorola Edge X30 is a decent alternative.

The Xiaomi 12X is a decent flagship-level smartphone that brings immersive features at the price tag of $709 (Rs 52,999 in India) approx, while being released in December 2021. The phone is designed in the same format as the Xiaomi 12, though there aren’t any particular changes in the specs, except the processing unit. Under the hood, the Xiaomi 12x arrives with a powerful 7nm Snapdragon 810 5G chipset that renders 3.2GHz cloaking speed with 5G connectivity on top. As for the front display, you are getting a 6.28-inches OLED display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR 10+ crispness, and many more exciting things to improvise the visual experience with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Following that, you will get the latest Android 12 on the MIUI 13 layering. The camera section comes with the 50MP primary shooter, and besides this, you will find a secondary camera including a 13MP ultrawide and 5MP telephoto macro lens. As for the selfie, the 32MP tiny dot notch camera is present on the front screen.

Model:
The 12 series is a brand new high-end smartphone series recently launched by Xiaomi and is Xiaomi's new flagship phone. It consists of three devices, named Mi 12X, Mi 12, and Mi 12 Pro. The Xiaomi 12X is the entry model in the series. The Mi 12X may be the smallest 12-series device, but it doesn't lack a ton of flagship features. With a 6.28-inch display, the Mi 12X is a relatively compact smartphone, very similar to Apple's iPhone 12 and 13. The Mi 12X uses an AMOLED panel with curved sides, a punch-hole camera, a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus and a thin screen protector. Colour options for the 12X include black, blue, and pink, all of which have a matte finish. The front-facing selfie camera of the Mi 12X has a 32-megapixel sensor without pixel binning, which can take detailed photos. The camera software is able to focus directly on your face, producing very nice images that can be further improved with a variety of beauty filters.
The triple camera on the back is powered by Sony's 50-megapixel IMX766 sensor. It's backed by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 123° field of view, and a 5-megapixel macro lens. Photos in daylight are sharp and detailed. The colours are outstanding but with a slight red shift. These photos are processed by the camera software's sharpening algorithms, resulting in very vivid photos. As for the display, the Mi 12X features a 120Hz AMOLED display with a sampling rate of 480Hz, resulting in a very smooth, instant and highly accurate everyday user experience with very little finger resistance on the screen. This AMOLED display is capable of achieving 1100 nits of peak brightness too. Biometric security features include an optical fingerprint reader and a 2D face detection. The former is hidden under the display and works very reliably and quickly.
The Mi 12X uses the Snapdragon 870 SoC with 8 or 12GB of LPDDR5 memory. This hardware configuration is fast enough for everyday tasks and challenges. The Mi 12X performs very well overall in the gaming category thanks to its Adreno 650 GPU. The high refresh rate of 120Hz ensures games will run smoothly without any reduction in detail. Inside the Mi 12X, there is a set of Harman Kardon stereo speakers, located on the top and bottom of the device. Its sound quality is generally good, with well-balanced mids and highs. There is also no distortion at maximum volume. The headphones can be connected via USB-C or Bluetooth 5.1, and the device supports various HD audio codecs such as AAC, LDAC or LHDC. In conclusion, the Mi 12X is a very good smartphone with a sleek design, a bright 120Hz AMOLED display, a powerful SoC, a good GPS modem, and long battery life. It is primarily aimed at users looking for a powerful and compact smartphone.

Qualcomm Adreno 650: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 25% faster than the Adreno 640 in the Snapdragon 855 SoC and offers 50% more compute units (ALUs). For Android it should be one of the fastest graphics cards in 2020.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Only a few smartphones have larger screens.
Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.
