Reviews for the Oppo Find X3 Neo
Oppo also wants to win over demanding users with the Find X3 Neo. The system performance and the camera's imaging performance are supposed to be the keys to success. We will show how well the manufacturer succeeds in this in our review.

At this price point, the Oppo Find X3 Neo is a bit disappointing, especially as a recording device, where it received among the lowest marks in the Premium category. When it comes to playback, the X3 Neo is at least functional for everyday use, with a strong score in the volume attribute and a better than average mark for artifacts.

The Oppo Find X3 Neo puts in a solid overall display performance in this midrange tier of smartphones. With particularly strong scores in artifacts, motion, and color, the device shows that the strengths of the X3 line aren’t limited to the top-shelf X3 Pro. With a bit more brightness and a better viewer experience when watching HDR10 content, the X3 Neo would really be punching above its weight.

The Oppo Find X3 Neo is the middle entry in the company’s X series, slotted between the top-end X3 Pro and the X3 Lite. It features a 6.55-inch, 90-Hz FHD+ AMOLED display, Qualcomm’s 865 chipset with 5G support, and 12 GB of memory along with 256 GB of storage. There are four cameras on the back. The primary module uses a 50 MP Sony sensor. There’s also a dedicated tele-module that offers a 2x optical zoom. Both those cameras have the same specs as on the top-of-the-line Find X3 Pro. The Neo’s ultra-wide has to make do with a 16 MP sensor instead of the Pro’s 50 MP variant, though. There’s also a 2 MP wide-angle macro module for getting extra close to objects.

This is the latest SmartPhone to cross my desk loaned from Vodafone. I remember when Oppo first arrived in the UK and you saw their name at Wimbledon and I am sure most people had no idea who they were, I noticed it this year at The Queens tennis and I am sure more now know they are a mobile phone company.

The Oppo Find X3 Neo 5G has a near-flagship quality camera, display and performance, yet it costs a fraction of the price because you miss out on a couple of features you'd get elsewhere. If you want a slightly smaller phone, and you like its more rectangular design then it’s a really fantastic choice.

Overall, though, there's a lot of positives with this phone, and putting it against its most direct competition in the Android space, the Galaxy S21, the Find X3 Neo has some advantages. It uses a more premium build, it has better battery life (and much faster charging), more RAM and storage for the same price, and what I'd say is slightly better audio. I'd also say the camera holds up a bit better at night, though they're not too far off from each other during the day. On the other hand, Samsung offers a better display and a faster processor.

Although the Oppo Find X3 Neo’s results for autonomy were not by any means earthshaking, its performance was largely satisfactory; and that said, it did very well for power efficiency. But thanks to its highly efficient and powerful 65W charger, the Oppo Find X3 Neo turned in a truly outstanding performance for charging that nearly all other devices will have a hard time beating.

It's easy to see the appeal of this slim and nimble phone. It offers great battery life, flagship speeds and one very good camera. The Snapdragon 865 processor inside means it's not just an over-priced mid-range device, but its biggest challenge will likely be competing with other similar-priced rivals.

The Oppo Find X3 Neo is a tidy flagship phone with a decent camera and fast charging. However, as a whole, it doesn’t quite offer the right combination of components for the price in a tough market.

The Oppo Find X3 Neo is a worthy alternative to the OnePlus 9 if you value camera zoom and a high-quality build over hardware upgrades that you’d be hard-pressed to notice in reality.

The Oppo Find X3 Neo is a phone that appeals on many different levels, whether you're looking for something that takes great photos or that just looks great. It's a lot cheaper than the Pro model, but it might have made just one compromise too many along the way.

Qualcomm Adreno 650: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 25% faster than the Adreno 640 in the Snapdragon 855 SoC and offers 50% more compute units (ALUs). For Android it should be one of the fastest graphics cards in 2020.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

SD 865: High-end SoC for smartphones that was introduced in late 2019 and manufactured in 7 nm at TSMC (improved N7P). Integrates one “Prime Core” based on a ARM Cortex-A77 architecture clocked at up to 2.84 GHz. Three more performance cores are also based on the A77 but clock up to 2.42 GHz. Furthermore, four energy saving cores are integrated that are based on the ARM Cortex-A55 architecture and clock at up to 1.8 GHz. In addition to the processor cores, the SoC integrates a WiFi 6 modem (including 60 GHz mmWave support), a Hexagon 698 DSP (up to 15 TOPS) and a Spectra 480 ISP. The integrated memory controller now supports faster LPDDR5 memory with up to 2,750 MHz. LTE is not included anymore in the SoC, but the external Snapdragon X55 5G modem has to be used.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

Only a few smartphones have larger screens.
Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.
0.184 kg:
Only few smartphones are more lightweight than this.
82.57%: This rating should be considered to be average. This is because the proportion of notebooks which have a higher rating is approximately equal to the proportion which have a lower rating.
