Xiaomi is planning a huge product launch event for September 15, and it is believed the Xiaomi 11T, 11T Pro, 11T Lite, and the Xiaomi Pad 5 are going to be the stars of the show. A promo video doing the rounds on social media showing 120 W fast charging in action has led to false hopes of a Mix 4 global release.

A video clip of a Xiaomi smartphone enjoying some seriously fast charging support has been popping up online, leading to some hope that the Chinese OEM could be preparing to include a Mix 4 global release in its upcoming online product launch event. The event, which takes place on September 15 at 20:00 (GMT+8), has been given the promotional tag “let the magic begin”. While the Xiaomi 11T, 11T Pro, and 11T Lite are the obvious main contenders for products to be launched at this event, there could also be room for the recently leaked global edition of the Xiaomi Pad 5, too.

False hopes for a potential Xiaomi Mix 4 global release have been created by a different edit of the promo clip (see embedded tweet below). This particular 11-second shot, as shared by tech stalwarts such as @UnboxTherapy, only shows a mystery Xiaomi smartphone being charged at “120 W max”. With no further details or smartphone name offered in the video, many have speculated that this is the Mix 4 on display here, as it is already known that this phone supports 120 W wired charging.

Unfortunately for those hoping to get their hands on a global Mix 4, which has already had its production in China hampered for various reasons, it seems the truth is that the “mysterious” smartphone on show is actually the Xiaomi 11T Pro. It’s already been rumored that the Pro variant of the Xiaomi 11T would support 120 W fast charging, and a different edit of the clip confirms this with the words “Xiaomi 11T Pro is coming your way”. In addition, Xiaomi has also been teasing its HyperCharge technology in conjunction with the expected 11T range launch.
