MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition is causing reboots on some POCO F3 smartphones
Last week, the POCO F3 became one of the first to receive MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, with the Mi 11 Ultra following suit. Initially, Xiaomi promised that Enhanced Edition updates would arrive globally in Q4 2021, but the company is running ahead of schedule.
While that is a good thing on the face of it, some POCO F3 owners are complaining of random reboots after upgrading to MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition. Apparently, a process called 'framework' has caused the reboots, although it is unclear which framework this is.
Turning off auto-brightness has been touted as a potential workaround, as has disabling MIUI's memory extension feature. Neither Xiaomi nor POCO have released a statement on the matter, though.
It is worth stressing that not every POCO F3 is affected by this issue. Nonetheless, we would not recommend upgrading your POCO F3 to V12.5.3.0.RKHMIXM until Xiaomi releases another update. Incidentally, V12.5.3.0.RKHMIXM is only available to handsets enrolled on MIUI's global branch, so it will not affect those on the EEA, Indonesian, Turkish, Taiwanese and Russian branches.
