ViewSonic X1000-4K: An ultra-short-throw projector with a 4K resolution, an integrated soundbar and up to a 150-inch projection
Viewsonic has expanded its portfolio of projectors with its first ultra-short-throw model. The X1000-4K is, as its name suggests, a 4K projector and one that has a built-in soundbar. ViewSonic states that the projector creates between 60-inch and 150-inch images when placed 15.9 to 65.7 cm away from a screen or a wall. For reference, the X1000-4K creates a 100-inch image when 38 cm away from its projection surface.
Additionally, ViewSonic asserts that the X1000-4K is a DLP projector, allowing it to achieve a native 4K resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. However, a full datasheet states that it utilises XPR technology, instead. We have asked ViewSonic if the X1000-4K is a true 4K projector or a 4K XPR one. We will update this article if we receive a response. You can read about how XPR technology works in an article published by Projector Junkies.
Nonetheless, the X1000-4K has a brightness of 2,400 LED Lumens, a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio and a light source life of up to 30,000 hours. Other features include an integrated Harman Kardon soundbar that has dual 20 W speakers and a subwoofer. Viewsonic claims that the projector operates at 23 dB in Eco mode and 25 dB in Normal mode, too.
Moreover, the projector has HDMI 2.0 port, USB Type-A, USB Type-C and an RJ45 Ethernet connection. Furthermore, the X1000-4K supports the vCastSender app, which allows you to stream content from your smartphone. Similarly, Proscenic has pre-installed apps, such as Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Spotify and Twitch.
The Proscenic X1000-4K is available to order now from €2,499 in the Eurozone. Alternatively, the projector can be ordered for £1,962, VAT included.
