Xiaomi has just launched the Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max in China. As it stands, these smartphones are expected to receive global releases as the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max, respectively. To that end, the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max have just turned up in recent HyperOS code changes, revealing their battery and charging capabilities in the process.
Additionally, it seems that the Xiaomi 17T is shaping up too. To recap, both the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro surfaced on IMEI databases just days after Xiaomi announced the Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro (curr. $835 on Amazon). While that leak identified model numbers, PaperKing13 has revealed several core Xiaomi 17T specifications.
For instance, HyperOS reflects that the Xiaomi 17T will maintain 67 W wired charging from its predecessor. Referred to by its internal P12A codename, the Xiaomi 17T jumps to a 6,500 mAh battery from the 5,500 mAh equivalent that powers the Xiaomi 15T. Moreover, the device is slated to feature the Dimensity 9500s.
Arguably, the Dimensity 8500 Ultra would have been the obvious choice considering Xiaomi's usage of the Dimensity 8300 Ultra and Dimensity 8400 Ultra inside the Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 15T, respectively. Unfortunately, camera hardware will remain unchanged between generations with OmniVision OV50E, OmniVision OV13B, Samsung ISOCELL JN5 and Samsung ISOCELL S5KKDS sensors as its primary, ultra-wide-angle, telephoto and front-facing cameras. A release date remains unknown for now, though.
