Winhanced gets major new update with faster performance, redesigned interface and more

The team behind Winhanced, a popular alternative to Windows' built-in handheld gaming interface, is currently rolling out version 0.9.9.2, one of its most substantial updates to date. At the core of the release is a rebuilt Performance Engine, designed to stabilize power tuning more efficiently, resulting in smoother and more consistent gaming performance on handhelds such as the Asus ROG Ally 7. Alongside more accurate temperature and power monitoring, fan behavior has also been improved, with the software automatically reapplying settings if a handheld fails to recognise them.
Another major highlight is Winhanced HUD 2.0, a redesigned Xbox Game Bar widget featuring a new tile-based interface that simplifies access to gaming and system settings. Players can customize the overlay's layout, create per-game fan curves, and continue using the HUD even when the main Winhanced application is closed. Intel handheld owners also gain two notable additions, namely Endurance Gaming, which aims to extend battery life during prolonged sessions, and Frame Generation Override, which toggles between multiple multiplier settings without needing Intel's own software.
Early access testers will receive two new home-screen designs (Art Forward and GlassStation), plus expanded game library support for Ubisoft Connect, EA, Amazon Games and Battle.net. The update further resolves a number of stability issues, including unexpected sign-outs and installation problems, while removing outdated system drivers in order to strengthen the software's foundation as it approaches its full 1.0 release.
