More and more Android OEMs are also releasing wearables these days; now, it seems that Vivo is about to join them. A Twitter leaker claims to have found images, apparently derived from a "patent", showing that this company has designed its first-gen smartwatch.

For an OEM that claims it was inspired by watch-faces while designing the rear cameras for its recent NEX 3 flagship, it is slightly strange that Vivo has not yet made a smartwatch of its own by now. However, a new leak suggests that this company has now moved to correct this deficiency.

This tip comes courtesy of @_the_tech_guy on Twitter, who claims to have extracted images of just such a wearable by Vivo from its patent on the subject. These diagrams show a fairly conventional round-faced device that, with its in-built chronograph, is most reminiscent of the LG G Watch R.

The images also show what may be sensors (perhaps for heart-rate or other health-metric tracking) on its underside, as well as possible connecting pins for charging. Finally, some of this material also suggests that this "Vivo Watch" will have a proprietary strap attachment with a quick-release catch. At present, it is impossible to say when (or even if) this putative new smart device might see a launch date.
