Vivo has teased that its new X300 Pro will surpass the Vivo X200 Ultra when it comes to videography. Equipped with MediaTek's new Dimensity 9500 chipset, the Vivo X300 Pro will surpass the Vivo X200 Ultra when it comes to 10-bit Log, Dolby Vision HDR and other video recording options.

It seems that both Oppo and Vivo are gunning for Apple when it comes to the video capabilities of their next flagship smartphones. To recap, Oppo teased last week that the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro feature notable 'video upgrades' to rival iPhones like the iPhone 17 Pro and the older iPhone 16 Pro (curr. $749 - refurbished on Amazon).

Now, Vivo has joined the fray just days after showcasing that the X300 series would match or surpass the X200 Ultra in a specific area of photography. Apparently, the company's new flagships will be the first capable of capturing 4K and 60 FPS portrait videos. Not only that, but at least the X300 Pro can shoot 120 FPS slow-motion videos in 4K too.

Moreover, Vivo's executive Han Bo Xiao boasts that the Vivo X300 Pro can leverage Dolby Vision HDR when shooting at 4K and 120 FPS. Likewise, this mode can be shot in 10-bit Log to aid post-production colour grading. For reference, the X200 Ultra can only reach 4K/60 FPS when shooting in 10-bit Log or Dolby Vision HDR.

Reportedly, the X300 Pro supports CIPA 5.5-stop stabilisation across its primary and telephoto cameras, as well as improved electronic image stabilisation (EIS) over previous generation Vivo flagships. Full camera details remain unconfirmed for now. Nonetheless, Han Bo Xiao is already making the bold claim that the Vivo X300 Pro outperforms the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Ultra when it comes to video performance while directly challenging Apple, too.
